PRO-AM CHÂTEAU DUCRU-BEAUCAILLOU

For the 5th edition of the Golf & Wine Charity Pro-Am, we met at the Golf du Médoc Resort.

Nestled in 150 hectares of natural surroundings, the Golf du Médoc Resort is considered an essential destination for golf, gastronomy, relaxation and wine tourism, located between the famous Médoc vineyards.

On Monday, September 25, 2023, the Golf du Médoc Resort welcomed a fine line-up of European Tour professionals.

Ryan Fox, 27th in the world rankings with a win at the BMW PGA Championship and 4 victories on the DP World Tour.

Gregory Bourdy, 4-time European Tour winner, and Oliver Fisher, who has 1 victory to count.

Jamie Donaldson, 3-time European Tour winner and member of Team Europe, winner of the 2014 Ryder Cup, and Marc Warren, 4-time European Tour winner.

Voted best golf course in the middle of the Médoc vineyards, it was on the Châteaux course that the players faced off on this day of competition. The course offers a unique universe in the purest tradition of Scottish links golf, with wide fairways lined with heather, gorse and broom, taking players into an intact natural environment. The quality of the greens, the influence of the ocean breezes and the technical richness of the layout make this championship course a first-rate golfing challenge.

This charity day in support of the Association Aquitaine Destination Enfance will enable us to help improve the lives of children treated in the pediatric oncology departments of hospitals in the Nouvelle Aquitaine region. The association organizes a wide range of sporting, gastronomic and cultural events for children and their parents, enabling them to escape the context of illness for a day or more. As a godfather of the association for several years, Grégory spends some of these days alongside the children whenever he can.

At the end of the day, we met at Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, where the Borie family gave us a very nice welcome.

On the program: tasting and private tour of this emblematic Médoc Grand Cru Classé in the Saint-Julien appellation. Ducru Beaucaillou has been cultivating its French art de vivre with passion and precision for many years, guaranteeing the excellence of its wines.

Participants enjoyed a magnificent gourmet dinner, punctuated by tastings of Château Ducru-Beaucaillou’s finest 1995, 2006 and 2015 vintages.

To conclude the evening, an auction raised €5,716 for the wonderful cause supported by the Association Aquitaine Destination Enfance.
