Golf in the Matmut Atlantique Stadium

At the Nouvelle Aquitaine elected representatives fair, The Matmut Atlantique welcomed the mayors of Gironde for an evening around Sport and Olympism in the run-up to Paris 2024.

More than 400 guests gathered on Wednesday the 23rd of May and got the chance to be introduced to the joys of golf and petanque.

Set up on the terrace, in the middle of the cocktail reception, the golf animation featured an incredible view of the stadium, with, in the backdrop, a golf course hole drawn on the polished grass.

A flag displayed at 85 metres with the visualisation of a bunker added to this authentic and unique French experience.

The event started with a demonstration, to explain the basics of this complex sport. With golf coming back in the Olympic Games in Rio in 2016, after 112 years of absence, professional players are now offered a new challenge and the opportunity to participate to the world’s most prestigious event in the world! In 2024, the show will take place in the National Golf of Guyancourt, the same that will host the Ryder Cup this year in September.

The animation, which lasted more than three hours, enabled guests to test their skills in golf and for some enthusiasts to confirm the popularity of the discipline in a very special place.

During this evening, we had the honour to welcome the olympic champion Emillie Andeol, who shared her experience of being gold medalist in Rio.
